How We Work
At Momentum One, our approach is holistic and hands-on. We partner closely with boards and leadership teams, empowering you with the skills, strategies, and confidence needed to grow your revenue and advance your mission.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we listen carefully and tailor our support to your organization’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals. Our focus is on building your internal capacity for long-term sustainability, so you can continue making a difference for years to come.
We Know the Challenges You're Facing, Because We Have Been in Your Shoes
You know the feeling:
-
Your board members seem passionate about the mission, but are unengaged in fundraising
-
You're stretched thin juggling programs, operations, AND development
-
Your donor base feels stuck, with the same names giving year after year
-
Foundation grants seem like a mystery, and corporate partnerships feel impossible to crack
-
You need to hire development staff but don't have the systems in place to set them up for success
The truth is, you can't scale impact without scaling revenue. And you can't scale revenue without the right strategy, systems, and support.
This is Where We Can Help: We Provide Partnership, Not Prescriptions
We deliver personalized, high-value fundraising services that meet you exactly where you are—and position you for where you want to go. We know you're working with limited staff, tight budgets, and competing priorities. That's why our strategies are highly tactical and tailored to your specific capacity. We prioritize low-lift, high-yield activities that maximize your return on investment.

About Carolyn Salvador
Hello! I’m Carolyn Salvador, and I’m passionate about helping small and emerging nonprofits grow their fundraising capacity and achieve lasting impact.
As a child, I was inspired by the Jerry Lewis Telethons and even hosted a backyard fundraiser at age 12—an early glimpse of the career to come.
I've served in nonprofit leadership for over 27 years, including roles as Executive Director and CEO for smaller nonprofits, where I helped organizations grow and significantly increase their revenue, often by four to six times their original size. I understand what it's like to wear many hats—fundraising, managing operations, and building partnerships—all while staying true to your mission.
As an early AI adopter and AI enthusiast, I am excited to help
organizations harness the power of AI to do more good in the
world. AI will be an essential tool for organizations to help improve efficiencies, reduce repetitive tasks and grow revenues.
AI will give nonprofit leaders more time to do what matters!
At Momentum One, my goal is to share the insights I've gained from years in your shoes, serving as a trusted partner and advisor to help you create lasting growth and sustainability for your organization.

About Maria Walden
I am a mission-driven, results-oriented funding strategist and executive with more than 20 years of senior leadership experience spanning philanthropic strategy, charitable estate planning, fundraising, business development, and nonprofit executive management. I am widely recognized for my ability to translate mission into measurable impact while driving sustainable revenue growth and organizational scale.
Today, I serve as Founding Partner of Community Foundation Growth, Momentum One Consulting’s newest division dedicated exclusively to helping community foundations grow assets, deepen donor relationships, and expand community impact. Previously, I served as Chief Development Officer for a regional community foundation, where I restructured development
operations to prioritize major gifts and strategic donor engagement and led growth strategies aimed at doubling assets from $60M to $120M. In that role, I worked extensively with financial, legal, and tax advisors to expand donor-advised fund participation and guided fundholders on complex philanthropic vehicles including endowments, scholarships, and legacy giving.
Before joining the community foundation, I served as Chief of Development and Strategy at Kahootz Consulting for more than a decade, leading capital campaigns and fundraising
initiatives that generated $8M to $50M annually for nonprofit organizations. My work included feasibility studies, campaign design, case development, donor strategy, executive coaching,
board development, and organizational capacity building. I also oversaw marketing, financial, and operational functions to support long-term growth.
Earlier in my career, I held senior leadership roles at FranklinCovey, where I launched and led the national nonprofit division, supported educational institutions nationwide, and was afounding team member of the 4 Disciplines of Execution. I began my executive career as Vice President of Marketing at Provant, managing a multimillion-dollar marketing budget and
leading integrated brand and growth initiatives.
Across sectors, I am known for strategic vision, operational excellence, and trusted partnership
with boards, donors, foundations, and corporate leaders. My work consistently strengthens
organizations, builds philanthropic capacity, and advances community impact.
